I am pleased to resume my contribution to the debate on the Greens' Commonwealth Electoral Amendment (Donations Reform) Bill 2014.

If passed, this bill would stop certain industries, often linked with having a corrupting influence on the political process, from donating to political parties. The Greens' donations reform bill bans political donations from developers and the tobacco, alcohol, gambling and mining industries.

Greens urge young Queenslanders to get on a roll to enrol

The Australian Greens today urged young Queenslanders to enrol to vote before the Australian Electoral Commission deadline on Monday at 8 pm to make sure their voices are heard on Election Day.

"Almost one in three young Queenslanders could miss out on having their voice heard this election, with 29 per cent of 18 to 25 year olds in the state unenrolled. That's the highest percentage for any state across the country," Greens Senator for Queensland, Larissa Waters, said near the QUT city campus today where she joined Greens candidates reminding students of the Monday deadline.
