Evidence Linc Energy told workers to eat yoghurt to endure pollution is startling

Media Release
Larissa Waters 23 Oct 2015

Evidence in the Dalby Magistrates Court that Linc Energy workers were told to eat yoghurt to stop the burning effects of pollution from its coal gasification project on the Darling Downs is outrageous.

"This is an absolute disgrace," Qld Senator Larissa Waters, Australian Greens Deputy Leader said.

"How outrageous that Linc Energy allegedly knowingly put their workers' health at risk and that of people in the surrounding community.

"It's crazy that this project was allowed to go ahead, especially amongst valuable agricultural land, and it's telling that both the big parties took donations from Linc Energy.

"Underground coal gasification and coal seam gas are toxic experiments with our land, water and health.

"We have safe renewable alternatives that don't cost our health, our farmland, our regional communities or our climate," Senator Waters said.
