Larissa Waters' letter to Minister Roxon about funding vital community legal services in Queensland.
Senator Waters wrote to the Attorney-General, Minister Roxon, asking her to provide additional funding to the Queensland Environmental Defenders Offices (EDO‐Qld and EDO‐NQ) and the Tenants Advisory Service Qld (TASQ) following the Queensland state government slashing their state funding, in breach of the CLSP Service Agreement.
Larissa Waters supports the vital role that community legal centres play in defending and supporting some of Australia’s most vulnerable people and communities. In Queensland, following Campbell Newman's budget cuts now face the prospect of having to significant cut staff numbers and rejecting countless people in desperate need of free, specialised legal support.
